Sophie recently joined the Adolescent Dogs team, bringing with her over 6 years of experience in assisting with dog training classes and dog daycare.
She is a qualified instructor through the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT), holds a Diploma in Animal Management and is a proud member of the Pet Professional Guild for force free training.
Sophie offers residential training in her tranquil, dog-free & child-free home, providing an ideal environment for focused learning. She also has access to her young nieces and nephews, which allows for valuable training experiences around children.
Situated near the New Forest, Sophie has access to forest walks and opportunities for training around wild donkeys, horses, cows, and pigs. Additionally, she is within driving distance of beaches and larger urban areas, offering a diverse range of training environments.
As a member of the Pet Professional Guildf, Sophie is passionate about reward-based training methods. She uses treats, toys, games, and praise to ensure every dog’s experience is fun, effective, and positive. She adapts both the environment and training techniques to suit the unique needs of each dog, providing personalised care while upholding high welfare standards.
Committed to her ongoing professional development, Sophie regularly attends seminars and courses conducted by leading trainers and behaviourists from around the world, ensuring she stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in dog training and behaviour.
