Adolescent Dogs are leading specialists in Residential Dog Training.
The benefits of our programme include having the trainee dog remain in the comforts of your own home throughout the duration of the course to avoid the stress of kennels, or for your dog to be boarded with the trainer if you are going away on holiday. The owner will then learn the skills via our lifetime support service including free classes and one to ones at the end of the course.
Residential training is ideal for all dogs from 12 weeks up to old age. It's never too early or too late to train your dog.
All residential training is run by our head instructor Jenny Trigg who is an approved instructor for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). The APDT offers a guarantee of quality when looking for a dog trainer in your area.
The benefits of our Residential Training include:
Having your dog trained while you are on holiday or at workGiving your dog 100% individual attention throughout the course (not shared amongst other dogs). No need for your dog to go to kennels, we can collect and drop off from your home.Added option for your dog to be boarded with the trainer if you are going away.Concentrating training outdoors for realistic training and handling.Allowing the owner to focus on learning the skills, instead of learning and teaching at the same time.Offering free lifetime support after the course in the form of unlimited access to group classes and one to one as needed.

The purpose of our residential training course is to enhance the quality of life for dogs and their owners and to teach them how to control and manage their dogs behaviour.
The Residential Training Programme runs as an intensive 2 week course consisting of approximately 30 hours one to one training time (5 days a week, 3 hours a day or 10 straight days). We can give you the flexibility to make the course longer or shorter depending on your requirements. Your dog will be personally collected each day at a time to suit you and dropped off at a mutually convenient time. (Please feel free to leave us with a spare key). Alternatively, we can arrange for your dog to be boarded with the trainer if you are going away on holiday. We only take one dog at a time (or 2 from the same household) so you can feel confident that your dog will receive 100% individual attention from the instructor throughout the duration of the course.
The Residential Course is initially based on your dog being trained by our fully qualified instructor Jenny Trigg who will put in the hard work, time and patience to improve your dogs behaviour and training. Throughout the course, your dog will receive approximately 3 hours of individual training every day, including plenty of walks and time to relax inbetween intensive sessions. Training is conducted both on lead and off lead in an outdoor environment to work against natural distractions.

Most problems are due to a breakdown in the relationship and communication between owner and dog, so Residential Training doesnt just stop with us. At the end of the course, you will receive hands on tuition with your dog to learn the necessary skills to maintain your dogs training. Time will be spent teaching you how to control and manage your dogs behaviour and improve your relationship so that your dog will listen and respond to you.
The residential course carries a free lifetime support service which gives you unlimited access to all of our group training classes as needed to help with your dogs continued development. This is very important if you don't want your dog to slip into bad habits.
