Asti & Wolfie in a down stay

"Customer Feedback" "I'd just like to thank you both for all your hard work. I can't believe the difference in just two weeks! The results are better than I could have possibly hoped for and the service was so much more personal that I thought it would be. It was so great so receive daily updates and to be able to chat to you both face to face every day. It really made me feel a part of my dogs training."
"Thank you Jenny and Anna for helping us with Poppy and Max. The work you've done has transformed our lives and we can finally enjoy having them both in the house with us! They miss going out to training every day, but on a brighter note, we are able to enjoy our walks with them so much more and offer them a much more active life."
"Thank you so much for all your help! Your continuing support and understanding has been priceless. I can't thank you enough for all your hard work, you clearly love dogs and have a real skill for training."
"Hi Jenny and Anna. I'd just like to say thank you once again for training Ruby. Your hard work has really paid off and I find it so much easier now that she actually listens to me. Ruby loves going for walks now and even enjoys playing with other dogs. It's so nice to be able to take her with me everywhere without the worry of her embarrassing us barking all the time! I can even take her to work with me now and she lies down quietly in the corner! Thank you so much!"

Adolescent Dogs provides a 2 week Residential Training Course (10 days total) for all dog owners. Ideal for owners who, for whatever reason don't have the time to put into taking their dog to training classes or put into private tuition. This can be due to long working hours, disability, illness or children to look after, leaving little or no time to practise. You may have already taken your dog to training and not progressed very far, or perhaps you've already sent your dog into residential training with no results. At Adolescent Dogs we GUARANTEE results and guarantee you will only ever pay the one off course fee and we will continue to follow your progress for the life of the dog, giving support when (or if) needed.
The features of the service include having the trainee dog remaining in the comforts of your own home whilst the training is conducted without the need for your dog to go into kennels. This makes the entire process alot less stressful both for dog and owner.
We can either:
Personally collect your dog every morning and drop off at a convenient time to suit you each evening. Your dog will be accompanied by two of our qualified instructors at all times and will never be left unsupervised. This will be Monday to Friday for 2 weeks. Alternatively, your dog can stay in the comforts of the trainers home for the entire 10 day period. Your dog will be collected at the start of the course and dropped off home at the end. (depending upon location)
We believe that dogs benefit from training in a variety of locations and natural settings, therefore we ensure that your dog is exposed to a number of natural distractions everyday. We don't limit your dog to set training grounds or indoor venues. We take your dogs training absolutely everywhere to ensure maximum success with your dog. Your dog will receive a minimum of 1.5 hour walk every day (depending on the breed and age of the dog) and several play sessions throughout the day for a well deserved break. Each course is tailor made to the individual owners and their dogs.
You will receive a personal qualified instructor to do all the training for you. The trainers will put in the hard work, patience and understanding needed to train your dog. You will then receive handler training at the end of your chosen course to be taught how to handle the dog and maintain the behaviours that have been taught. You will also receive hand written progress reports for your dog so that you can see exactly what has been taught to your dog each day.
Course material can cover: - Walking on a loose lead
- Town Training
- Come when called from distractions
- Chasing Recall (for when your dog is chasing a rabbit or cyclist)
- Distance Control - lie down on cue from a distance
- Stop in an Emergency
- Jumping up, Mouthing, Food Stealing etc
- Destructive Behaviour
- Toilet Training
- Car Travel

- Socialisation with other dogs
- Socialisation with people

- Confidence Building for the nervous dog
- Sit and Down Stay when told
- Settle in busy enviroments (i.e. pubs, parks etc)
- Bike and Car chasers
- Provide greater control within the home
- Teaching a previously kenneled dog how to live within the home environment
- Anything you feel has room for improvement
You don't have to have a problem dog to benefit from residential training. We take puppies as well as older dogs regardless of what you would like your dog to learn. Perhaps you just want your dog to understand the basic commands or you may just have one or two areas of your dogs training that needs tweaking.
As with training all dogs, the dog/owner relationship plays an important role in shaping your dogs behaviour as well as the boundaries set within the home. For this reason, we will spend a significant amount of energy and time to ensure that the correct boundaries are in place within the home and the relationship that you have with your dog is moving in the right direction. At the end of the course you will receive extensive handler training which teaches you how to handle the dog and maintain the behaviours that have been taught. We will also evaluate the relationship between you and your dog which will ultimately ensure long term success.
Progress Reports
There are numerous ways to follow the progress of your dog's training. To begin, you will receive extensive training notes, including an outline of the entire training process as well as regular email and telephone reports.
Demonstration
At the end of the course you will be invited to view a demonstration of obedience exercises taught to your dog with the opportunity to ask questions before your part of the hands on tuition begins.
Hands on Tuition for Owner
At the end of the course you will be given hands on tuition which will teach you the reinforcement methods used to train the dog and will be given time to practise these methods on the trained dog. You will be given as much tuition as is needed for you to feel confident handling the dog with the newly taught exercises.
Aftercare
Aftercare is offered for as long and as often as necessary to ensure that the handling skills are well understood and practiced properly, and any mistakes are not being unintentionally repeated. Depending on preferences and conveniences, aftercare may be in the form of written support, telephone support or further hands-on tuition at the school at no extra cost.
