Adolescent Dogs is one of the only dog training clubs in Surrey and Hampshire that uses positive reinforcement training without an emphasis on using food. Our unique club builds on your relationship with your dog, ensuring that your dog responds to you reliably and confidently every time when it matters most (with distractions).
Classes are an ideal place to teach your dog new commands and teach him to respond to you in a distracting environment. We have classes for all levels of learning, whether you are starting at the basics with a new puppy, going back to basics with an older dog or wish to progress to a higher level of training.
We train both indoors and outdoors to ensure that your dog becomes 100% reliable everywhere (not just in the training hall or at home). All classes are run by an approved instructor of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). We limit classes to small groups (4-5) to ensure that individual attention is available when (or if) needed. This ensures that you will progress at a steady rate and receive all the help and guidance you need to achieve the results you want.

Beginners 6 week course: The Beginners class is a good start for both puppies (from 10 weeks) and adult dogs requiring basic obedience training or for people wanting more control over their dog. You can expect to learn how to play with your dog, how to get your dog to come when called (recall), sit, down, leave it, walking on a loose lead, drop, manners greeting people and dogs, grooming, handling and health checks. All family members and Children are welcome to participate in this class. No previous training required. Click here for more information.
Improvers 6 week course: The Improvers class is perfect for those who wish to learn more than the basics and progress to a higher standard with their dog. Here you can expect to achieve a sit and down stay with lots more distractions, an emergency stop, impulse control, recall past dogs, send away, distance control and leaving food offered by a stranger among other things. Basic training required to enroll. Click here for more information.

Mixed Ability Pay as you go: (All levels. Outdoor generalisation) The Mixed Ability Class is open to puppies and older dogs regardless of breed or training experience. From complete beginner to the more advanced student, this class is tailor-made to suit everyone. The group is held outdoors for realistic training and handling and all dogs and owners are encouraged to attend along-side a dog training class (with any school). The emphasis on this weekly class is generalising your dogs indoor training to a realistic, outdoor environment with distractions. Must be attending basic training (with any school) to join. Click here for more information.

Re-call Workshop: The Re-call Workshop is for those having difficulty getting their dog to return to them when called (first time!). Here we teach a range of techniques designed to improve your dog’s recall and control his/her impulse to run off. A good recall means your dog responds to his name within 2 seconds and we feel that if this is in place, your dog is safer in every respect. No previous training required. Click here for more information.
Lead Pulling Workshop: The Lead Pulling Workshop is an opportunity for your dog to learn loose lead walking in a challenging environment. We take a small group into Guildford town centre for realistic training. Here we usually encounter pigeons, prams, ducks, crowds of people, lifts, stairs, trains, small children, bicycles and more! No previous training required. Click here for more information.
Canine C.S.I Course (Pay As You Go): The C.S.I Course is a fun 'murder mystery' style course which consists of tracking, search and rescue, explosive detection (we don't use real explosives!), drug detection (we don't use real drugs either) and almost every exercise connected to controlling and having lots of fun with your dog. The course is open to all dogs over 16 weeks (all breeds). No previous training is required. Click here for more information.
Private Group Classes: The Private Group Lessons Private group lessons are ideal if you would like the affordability of classes but can't get to any of our venues or class times. All you need is a suitable venue and we will be more than happy to host a group class in your area. These can be arranged daytimes, evenings and weekends at your convenience. You can choose to learn from the club syllabus or tailor a course to suit the needs of the group. Click here for more information.
Dog Agility Classes: The Dog Agility Classes are tailored for dogs from 16 weeks up to old age. Agility is a great way of building a good working relationship with your dog, improving obedience and control and having lots of fun. Dog agility is about working as a team with your dog to complete a series of obstacles such as jumps, A-frames, tunnels, weave poles, tyre and dog walks. This fun sport is suitable for all breeds of dogs and classes are run on Saturday mornings. Click here for more information.
